ABOUT THIS ROLE

In your role as a Host, you will be a part of our multi-skilled team, providing high levels of customer service to visiting patrons.

You may be asked to work across all elements of Front of House operation including Bar, Retail, Floor and Access. Your duties will include delivering exceptional customer service, assisting patrons with specific requirements, supporting your team with cleaning, ensuring the safety of the audience whilst in the building, and welcoming our audience members for performances.

Lightroom is open 7 days per week. There will be a mixture of daytime and evening shifts, requiring flexibility of available hours from our team. As this contract is for temporary Christmas staff you will have to work either Christmas Eve (24/12/24) or New Years Eve (31/12/24). Successful candidates should expect that a minimum of 1 shift per week will be scheduled for either a Saturday and/or Sunday with other shifts available throughout the week.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

General

• Provide a high level of customer service to every customer visiting Lightroom.
• Assist and communicate with your fellow hosts to ensure the Front of House experience runs smoothly.
• Be prepared to assist in all areas of Front of House operations, including but not limited to bar, show space, retail and sales positions.
• Ensure that the customer journey from the front doors to the show space is as smooth as possible.
• Have a good knowledge of Lightroom as a venue and of the current show to be able to provide patrons with accurate answers to any questions they may have.
• Take responsibility for the assigned area you are working on as part of your shift and be the first point of contact in that area for the oversight of fire safety and first aid.
• Be aware of the relevant procedures in place for the eventuality of fire and first aid emergencies keeping up to date with fire evacuation plans and your role as part of it.
• To complete any reasonable tasks as instructed by Duty Managers whilst on shift.
• To treat customers with kindness, care and consideration whilst maintaining they are kept safe whilst in the building.
• To report and escalate concerns to Duty Managers whilst on shift.

Bar Operations

• Provide friendly, efficient bar service in a fast-paced bar environment.
• Have a good knowledge of all items available on the menu and be able to advise customers on allergens and other dietary requirements.
• Work well as part of a small team working to a very high standard and demanding timescale.
• Complete tasks such as stock counting as required.
• To use initiative in quieter moments and ensure the bar and the surrounding area is kept clean and tidy.

Access

• Give tailored support to access customers determined by their needs and how they want to journey through the experience.
• Delivery of excellent customer service including showcasing patience and kindness to those who require extra assistance.
• Be a proactive member of the access team in all aspects of the role including escalating concerns or raising ideas of additional measures that could be put in place.

Retail

• Assist customers with the purchase of items from the shop and provide an excellent level of customer service.
• Carry out the daily restocking.
• Have an excellent knowledge of items on sale.
