Summary
We are currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Optical Dispensing Assistant/ Optical Screener to join our growing team.

Key Responsibilities:
Assist optometrists and other healthcare professionals with patient screenings.
Conduct preliminary tests such as visual acuity, OCT scanning and intraocular pressure measurements.
Prepare and clean equipment and instruments for eye tests.
Maintain accurate patient records and ensure all data is up to date.
Ensure the practice runs smoothly by managing appointments, handling patient queries, and assisting with general admin duties.
Support the fitting and adjustment of eyewear, providing excellent customer service throughout the process.
Assist with stock control and ordering of optical supplies as needed.
A strong drive towards retail sales and selling high end optical lenses and designer frames
Personalized Styling:
Assist customers in selecting eyewear that complements their face shape, style preferences, and functional needs.
Trend Guidance: Stay up-to-date with the latest eyewear trends and fashion, and provide recommendations to clients on the best styles and looks.
Product Knowledge: Educate customers on frame materials, lens options, and the benefits of different styles for both aesthetics and comfort.
Customer Experience: Provide a premium shopping experience by offering style consultations, adjustments, and ongoing support to clients.
Visual Merchandising: Help maintain an attractive and organized display of eyewear, ensuring that the store environment is inviting and on-brand.
Provide patients with information on lenses, frames, and optical products, helping them choose the right options for their needs.
Assist with social media tasks
Key Requirements:
Previous experience in an optical or healthcare setting is desirable but not essential.
Strong communication skills with the ability to build rapport with patients.
Excellent attention to detail and the ability to perform tests accurately.
A positive and approachable attitude, with a strong focus on customer service.
Ability to work well as part of a team and also take initiative where necessary.
A genuine interest in eye care and optical health.
Strong interest in fashion and eyewear trends.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a friendly, approachable demeanor.
Your main place of work would be based at Parkhurst Opticians in Doncaster although covering other team members may take you to one of our other branches located in Doncaster, Mexborough, Bentley or Goldthorpe.
Your annual salary will be calculated at the Living wage for 37.5 hours per week, your hours of work will be 8.45 am to 5.00 pm days per week , and 8.45am to 3pm on Saturdays. Lunch is 30 minutes.
Your salary will be paid on the 25th of every month.
The working rotas are available usually a minimum of 3 weeks in advance and depending on the time or year there may be up to 12 weeks of rotas available.
You will receive 29 days holiday including bank Holidays pro rata.
Your own transport will be required. We pay mileage expenses if you are required to work in a practice where the mileage exceeds your normal place of work.
As this is a Health care /retail role you will be required to wear smart business attire. this does not necessarily mean a suit.
Your employment is dependent on references and we have a 6 month probationary period.
