Summary
The North London Forensic Service (NLFS) is currently recruiting Clinical or Forensic Psychologists to our Specialist Community Forensic Team. It is an exciting time to join our service as we continue to embed and develop our community forensic provision, alongside multi-disciplinary colleagues and experts by experience.
NLFS benefits from a large psychology team with a wealth of experience and expertise to absorb. A range of training and CPD opportunities are available, as well as the possibility of contributing within active Research and Quality Improvement Forums.
This role would suit someone with an established career within forensic mental health, looking to develop their leadership skills further and to hold responsibility as the Psychology Lead for the Choices Community Partnership: Specialist Community Forensic Team.
Up to 0.8 WTE Band 8b Clinical/Forensic Psychologist post is available, within the Choices Community Partnership: Specialist Community Forensic Team (CCP: SCFT), with opportunities for flexible and hybrid working. This stream of the SCFT service works with predominantly non-restricted patients who are leaving/have left Forensic Mental Health secure inpatient wards. The predominant base for the roles will be at the Chase Farm Hospital site in Enfield, though travel within community locations within boroughs will be required. The boroughs covered are Barnet, Enfield, Haringey, Camden and Islington.
The post holder will be required to offer an autonomous psychological service, including a range of psychological assessments and interventions, consultation and training as part of a multidisciplinary team within the service. They will also be required to support more junior psychology colleagues and to be involved in service development. An understanding of forensic risk assessment, high level communication skills and an ability to engage well with and convey complex or sensitive information to service users, colleagues and external agencies is essential.
The partnership between Barnet, Enfield and Haringey Mental Health NHS Trust (BEH) and Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust (C&I) is going from strength to strength since it was originally established in 2021 forming the North London Mental Health Partnership.
