East Coast and Yorkshire region / Hybrid 2 office days and 3 days working from home

Are you ready to lead our charge in shaping and securing innovative partnerships, growing and developing our region? As our Lead Business Development Manager, you’ll guide strategic business opportunities, from tendering to successful partnerships with the NHS and Local Authorities.



This is an impactful role where your relationship-building, sharp pricing strategies, and dedication to quality will directly influence Home Group’s reach and reputation across all tenures, including supporting an ambitious growth target for rented and supported operational delivery models.



Typical day as a Lead Business Development Manager



  • Leading end-to-end bidding, prioritising tenders, reviewing proposals, and coordinating each stage to deliver high-quality bids that showcase Home Group’s strengths.

  • Building and maintaining trusted partnerships with commissioners in Local Authorities and the NHS, promoting Home Group as a top provider of care and support services.

  • Collaborating with our Partnerships, and Operations teams to analyse trends, transforming potential leads into well-crafted business proposals.

  • Evaluating opportunities for strategic alignment and resource efficiency, ensuring our focus is on viable, high-impact business growth.

  • Applying your commissioning and pricing expertise to develop multi-year budgets that meet financial targets and maintain competitive edge.

  • Ensuring our monitoring and reporting is accurate and timely.

You have



  • Excellent rapport-building skills, with the curiosity and empathy to understand stakeholder needs and the insight to align them with Home Group’s goals.

  • Degree-level education or equivalent experience in the health or social care sector, especially in learning disabilities or mental health.

  • A proven track record leading tender processes, including bid coordination and pricing strategy, with a focus on quality and competitiveness.

  • Strong commercial insight, particularly in commissioning, pricing, and multi-year budgeting, allowing you to navigate complex financial objectives.

  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and persuasively to a variety of audiences.

  • Familiarity with health and social care industry dynamics, ideally including experience with TUPE regulations, project management, and public speaking, to enhance your effectiveness in this role.

  • Flexible working hours (or we’re open to agreeing a work pattern with you)
