Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Pharmacist to join the Pharmacy Production team at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust (NUH) . You will be responsible for assisting in the provision, management and development of safe and efficient pharmacy production service at NUH. This will include final checking and releasing medicines manufactured, prepared or assembled in the pharmacy production units at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust (NUH).
The position is full time 37.5hours week. Requests from applicants for part time working will be considered.
The Pharmacy Production department at NUH has four manufacturing areas. The Sterile Production Unit (SPU), Non-Sterile Manufacturing Unit (NSM) and Pharmacy Packing Unit (PPU) are based at the MHRA licensed facility at the Queens Medical Centre (QMC) campus. The Cytotoxic Chemotherapy Production Unit (Cytolab) is located at the City Hospital Campus. The post holder will be required to work at both the Sterile Production Unit and Cytotoxic Chemotherapy Production Unit (Cytolab) depending on the service demands.
To be eligible for this post you must be a registered Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council, have experience working in hospital pharmacy and ideally in a manufacturing environment.

To work as part of a team and assist in the preparation, assembly, manufacture, final check and release of medicinal products manufactured in the Pharmacy Production departments at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust (NUH).
To assist in the provision, management and development of safe and efficient pharmacy production services at NUH.
We are looking for a dynamic and highly motivated pharmacist with an interest in production to help take this service forward. Good written and verbal communication skills and close attention to detail are essential for this role. This post requires close liaison with other members of the pharmacy production, clinical pharmacy and clinical trials teams, and regular interaction with other Trust staff and with external clients. The post holder will be expected to promote NUH Production Units as a centre of excellence to current and potential outside customers, crucial to delivering the department and trust objectives including supporting the delivery of the Trust’s research capacity and capability.

The successful candidate must be highly motivated, a team player and have a desire to provide safe and effective medicines to patients in an acute hospital setting. You will be required to final check and release aseptically prepared medicines prepared in accordance with standard operating procedures.
You will have a range of post registration experience in hospital pharmacy which will ideally include experience within a production environment.
