Job Description
An opportunity has arisen for the position of Chef working within the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall and City Halls and other venues within the organisation if required. You will report to the Head Chef and Hospitality Manager. Working within Catering & Facilities Management, you will be dedicated and highly motivated with the ability to adapt and problem solve in a busy environment, able to communicate and work well with your colleagues and to provide a first-class catering operation to our guests. Hours of work are varied and include evenings and weekends. You will be a senior member of the team ensuring the delivery of a high standard of catering provision across a range of services, including daily café and busy conference, banqueting and events operations. Your duties and responsibilities will include ensuring food is prepared and served to the highest standard aswell as ensuring the kitchen and service area are always clean, well-presented, and well-stocked. You will be able to motivate, support and train your team and ensure you are keeping up to date with menus and input into development of current and new offerings. You will create, cost and implement bespoke menus if required by client whilst ensuring COSHH, Food Safety, and Health & Safety policies are followed. You will have a good understanding of IT packages including Microsoft office suite and be confident using electronic ordering & reconciliation systems and a good knowledge of stock control and periodic stock checking procedures.
