To support and deputise for the Supervisor in the day to day operational running and promotion of the library.
What the job requires -
To deliver vibrant, exciting library services that have books, reading and learning at the heart of them. Whilst delivering excellent customer care. Contribute to the day to day operational running of the library in the absence of the Supervisor and in conjunction with the Delivery Manager, with responsibility for the safety and security of staff, the public, the building, stock, equipment and monies.
To support the Supervisor to ensure resources within the team are used to best effect. Ensuring service performance and corporate objectives are monitored and met.
To support in building strong internal and external working partnerships to enable the service to be delivered in an outcome focused and efficient way, supporting our commitment to community cohesion.
Working with Colleagues to develop and lead library events and activities for all ages, whilst supporting, empowering and enabling our communities.
To actively support and participate in the different Council initiatives.

Essential Experience
Excellent Customer Care skills and Communication skills.
1 year experience of either working in a library setting or experience in working in a customer facing role e.g. retail.
Desirable Experience
Experience in leading a team.
Experience in looking after a building and dealing with health & Safety.
Minimum / essential requirements -
Ability to understand, communicate and interact confidently with customers, Colleagues and stakeholders.
Knowledge, experience of using IT equipment and software.
Ability to work under pressure and react quickly to situations being the main point of contact.
Ability to carry and shelf stock at high and low levels and to move furniture when necessary.
