CANDIDATE PROFILE

Experience:

  • 2 Years related work experience
  • Previous supervisory experience desirable

Skills and Knowledge

  • Good Communication skills (verbal, listening, writing)
  • Pro-active and reliable
  • Able to work within a team
  • Attention to detail
  • Organised & methodical
  • Flexible & adaptable
  • Ability to listen and act on feedback
  • Ability to guide, coach & mentor team members

Education or Certification

  • Good level of English essential
  • High School Diploma or equivalent

The primary focus of the role is to ensure associates are working together as a team to ensure optimum service and that guest needs are met.

Key duties include:

  • Inspect grooming and attire of staff and ensure Marriott standards are met.
  • Complete opening and closing duties including setting up necessary supplies and tools, cleaning all equipment and areas, locking doors, etc.
  • Inspect storage areas for organization and cleanliness.
  • Complete scheduled inventories and stock and requisition necessary supplies.
  • Monitor dining rooms for seating availability, service, safety, and wellbeing of guests.

Other duties include:

ASSISTS MANAGEMENT

  1. Ensure that employees are trained on company core values, job roles, responsibilities, and technical and service aspects of the job.
  2. Ensure employee compliance with company standards and policies and external regulations.
  3. Assist management in establishing and communicating goals, performance expectations, timetables and deadlines for shift or departmental operations to employees and ensure that they are understood.
  4. Coordinate tasks and work with other departments to ensure that the department runs efficiently.
  5. Collaborate with management to develop and carry-out ideas and procedures and set goals to continuously improve department performance around guest and employee satisfaction scores.
  6. Coach and develop employees (e.g., create expectations for continual improvement, provide challenging tasks and assignments, hold development discussions, and construct and execute development plans).
  7. Serve as employees' first point of contact as part of the Guarantee of Fair Treatment/Open Door Policy process.
