Please Note: This is a training post, and will fall under the Annex 21 guidance.

You will be paid a percentage of relevant banding whilst undergoing a 12 month training programme, to fulfil requirements of a Nurse Practitioner within Sexual Health.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for 1 band 6 'Annex 21' Sexual Health nurses, to join our friendly, enthusiastic and committed team within the axess Liverpool Sexual Health dept.

Experienced RGNs who have both/either a contraception (DFSRH or equivalent) and STI qualification (STIF Intermediate) will be considered.

The successful applicant will be required to deliver patient care and manage all areas within the department demonstrating professionalism, clinical expertise with excellent communication skills in all aspects of their work. The work is varied and includes conducting consultations for both contraception and STI screening. Working from PGD to dispense both contraceptive and STI treatments, STI management and health advising & results management is also required as part of the role. The provision of LARC methods including sub dermal implant insertion.

This role is to work across all access Liverpool sites ( RLH, Garston & The Beat), therefore travel will be required on rotational basis.

Working pattern will also include evenings and Saturdays.

As an autonomous practitioner undertake independent consultations with clients, including assessing, monitoring and evaluating individual client's contraceptive and sexual health needs including referral to other Health Professionals required.

Issue methods of contraception according to Patient Group Directors & clinical protocols

Provide STI screening and treatment according to Patient Group directions & clinical protocols. Encouraging partners attendance and treatment when necessary.

Provide advice and cytology screening as appropriate, according to local policies.

To take responsibility for the smooth running of the day to day management of the GUM service.
