Crynodeb
This is a substantive replacement tertiary endocrine consultant NHS post undertaking 10 PAs per week. The post holder will join a busy and progressive team delivering paediatric diabetes, endocrinology and metabolic bone services within Birmingham, the West Midlands and beyond. The post will deliver secondary and tertiary endocrine services, on site with a combination of virtual and face to face clinics and inpatient care, in addition to endocrine outreach services. Specifically the post holder will contribute to the delivery of the National Rare Diabetes service at Birmingham Childrens Hospital. There are 8.0 Direct Clinical Care (DCC) PAs and 2.0 supporting professional activities (SPA). For newly appointed consultants within their first-year post CCST 0.25PA of clinical care will be replaced with 0.25PA of SPA to aid in adjustment to the role. We seek to employ a dedicated, tertiary trained paediatric endocrinologist who will work with the existing team. There is a 1: 5.5 on call commitment for endocrinology & diabetes.
