We have an exciting opportunity to appoint to a Senior Clinical Fellow in ENT Surgery within University Hospitals of Derby and Burton Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, for 6 months from February to August 2025.
The appointee will be actively involved in the running of the ENT unit including participating in ward rounds, theatre lists, day case lists and outpatient clinics, as well as providing support for the Consultants, SAS Doctors and junior medical team.
This post can be tailored according to the experience of the appointee. Possession of MRCS exam or equivalent is essential. Good computer and communication skills are a requirement. Weekly rotas will be flexible depending on the needs of the service.
Clinical components of role include supporting the ENT surgery team across all areas of the service including inpatient and day case elective theatre sessions, emergency operating, outpatient clinics, MDT and daily ward round.
Candidates should be eligible to work in the UK and hold full GMC Registration at the time of application.
The post is based at the Royal Derby Hospital, one of the newest hospitals in the country, providing state of the art facilities with access to a full range of excellent diagnostic and treatment facilities including a 9 theatre operating suite with 3 fully integrated laparoscopic theatres, 3 day case theatres and a robotic theatre suite.

Responsibility for the continuing care and treatment of patients in your charge and personal performance of clinical duties as agreed in your job plan, allowing for all proper delegation to, and training of your staff.
Responsible for working with Business Unit team to achieve all national access targets.
Participation in the clinical governance arrangements of the Trust and specifically within the Directorate including clinical audit, and research.
Responsibility for implementing the Infection Control Policies as determined by UHDB.
Responsible for compliance with personal continuing medical education requirements with the support of the Trust .
Responsible for maintaining awareness of professional guidelines such as ‘ Duties of a Doctor’ and ‘GMC Performance Procedures’ and acting in accordance with them.
