Summary

Overview

Grantham and District Mencap are looking for someone with a supportive, enthusiastic and committed approach to care, to fill one permanent team leader vacancy at their day centre . The Cree Centre provides support and a timetable of engaging and accessible activities for adults with a learning disability.

You will professionally lead the day centre care team whilst on duty, ensuring that a safe, effective and efficient care service is maintained which meets the needs and outcomes of the individual members. You will provide care and support to our members in accordance with their assessed needs and industry standards.
The post is for 37.5hrs per week working flexibly between the hours of 08:30-17:00 Monday – Friday.

You will be expected to be a key holder for the day centre to open, and on occasions, in the Centre Managers absence lock up at the end of the day.
The members you will be supporting all have a learning disability and some also have physical and/or emotional disabilities.

The hourly rate of pay is -£12.12

You must be flexible and have a genuine desire to support people to achieve their aspirations.

You will work with and lead a team of staff to support people to meet their individual needs, promoting dignity, independence, health and well-being.
You will be required to undertake training through a variety of sources including internal, external and online.

Requirements
Previous experience in senior care role essential.
Experience of working with adults with a learning disability is essential.
Ideally you will hold a level three Health and Social Care qualification or be willing to work towards this.
Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to engage effectively with members, families, and stakeholders.
A proactive approach with the drive to improve service delivery continuously.
Ability to supervise staff and delegate tasks while maintaining a compassionate approach towards our members.
