Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic individual to become an integral part of the finance team at the Shepherd Chartered Surveyor group.
The Shepherd Group is the leading and largest independent surveying firm in Scotland. Offering the full spectrum of surveying services across the property and construction industries. The combined group operates from over 40 offices within the UK.
Located in our Dundee Head Office the successful candidate will work in a fast-paced finance team alongside dedicated professionals. There will be shared duties across the group giving the right person the opportunity to expand their skill set and build a long and successful career within the group. The firm supports and encourages professional development including pursuing accounting qualifications.
Duties
• Importing invoices into accounting software packages.
• Processing purchase invoices and expense claims.
• Setting up bank payments.
• Allocating purchase and sales invoices to the relevant offices.
• Credit control duties.
• Credit card payments for sales invoices.
• Bank reconciliation.
• Processing journals and other month end processes, such as, balance sheet reconciliations.
• Audit preparation and assisting auditors at year end.
• Assisting in the preparation of management information such as budgets, cash flows and management accounts.
• Raising monthly invoices to other group companies.
• Processing monthly invoices from other group companies.
• Dealing with internal and external stakeholders ~ through phone and via email.
Required Skills
• Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
• Must be able to adapt to the fast-paced working environment.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Experience of Sage Line 50 and similar packages preferable but is not essential. As full training will be provided when the candidate is onboarded into the team.
• Bookkeeping or accounting experience.
• Microsoft Office packages - Excel is crucial for the role.
