We are looking for an experienced Head Chef to lead our kitchen and cleaning team in Buxton SK17 9JN. The ideal candidate will have strong culinary skills, leadership abilities, and a commitment to high standards as well as cleaning experience or knowledge to lead two teams / Management experience.

As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for;

-preparing and cooking dishes FROM SCRATCH alongside a cook , using standardized recipes, while maintaining cleanliness and safety in all areas.

-You will ensure the efficient use of resources and proper stock control, including reporting mechanical defects and the need for repairs.

- Planning special menus and monthly theme days, introducing new initiatives to the catering and cleaning operations, and reviewing and revising hospitality menus annually will be part of your role.

- You will supervise kitchen and cleaning staff balancing your supervision between the teams, ensuring high standards of food preparation and presentation are achieved and maintained at all times. Additionally, you will assist with hospitality preparation and delivery, maintain accurate daily records, conduct weekly stock taking and performance reporting, and assist in monthly audits.

- You will be responsible for ordering and managing stock, participating in training of yourself and staff, and handling service provision in the absence of management. Responding to complaints professionally, maintaining personal hygiene and appearance, controlling absenteeism and overtime, and supervising team activities to meet deadlines and quality standards are also essential duties.

-You will order cleaning stock and carry out audits and inspections for both the Catering and cleaning teams and adhere to the contract with our client to ensure all KPIS are met and a high standard is delivered at all times.

-Take part in Supervisor meetings addressing any outstanding issues or updates to cascade to both of your teams.

You must have experience of daily interaction with clients, leadership teams, operational management & catering / cleaning operatives. Ability to communicate professionally and effectively, both verbally and in writing, within all levels of the business and to external parties. You need to be creative and innovative with the vision to capitalise on sales opportunities. 

  The ideal candidate would have 3 years' experience as a Chef Manager in a similar environment, preferred domestic experience and HACCP experience. You must have relevant qualifications and certifications such as Level 3 Food Safety certification, Minimum Level 3 food safety, 7061/2 or equivalent NVQ/SVQ preferred with training undertaken in Food Safety, Health & Safety, COSHH regulations.
