Berkshire CAMHS are excited to be recruiting an Educational Mental Health Practitioner (EMHP) in the established school-based service, The Mental Health Support Team (MHST) in Slough.
TheMental Health Support Teams(MHST)are part of an exciting new project funded by NHS England, Health EducationEnglandand partners with the aim of improving the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people in the community.Thisopportunity allows you to join an innovativenewservice during an exciting time whilst working alongside an enthusiastic,compassionateand inspiring team!
The Team form part of the developing CAMHS Getting Help services across East Berkshire, working as part of the multi-agency early intervention supportfor the education setting.The role offers an exciting opportunity to continue to innovate and deliver high quality evidence-based care andwholesysteminterventions, with great ongoing CPD opportunities.
The working patternfor this role isMonday – Friday, 9 – 5pm.
Applicants must have completed or due to complete the specific EMHP qualification to be eligible for this position
1. Deliver evidence-based intervention for children and young people in education setting with mild to moderate mental health problems
1. Helping children and young people who present with more severe problems to rapidly access more specialist services; using effective multiagency collaborative working to effectively signpost and refer on where needed
1. Supporting andfacilitatingstaff in education settings toidentifyand whereappropriate manageissues related to mental health and wellbeing
1. Working with and within education environments to afford better access to specialist mental health services
1. As a qualified EMHP beconfident in the use of CYP IAPT principles, evidence-basedinterventionsand routine outcome measures.
1. To care co-ordinate and manage a defined caseload of children and young people presenting with emotional health and wellbeing difficulties in schools under supervision
1. To provide training to schools’ staff,parentsand carers in conjunction with colleagues.
1. Within schools actively promote the whole school-based approach to developing andmaintainingemotional health and well-being

The “must haves” for this role:
1. Graduate Certificate / Post Graduate Certificate qualification as an Education Mental Health Practitioner (EMHP)
1. A British Psychological Society (BPS) accredited or British Association ofBehaviouraland Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) EMHP training course or preparing tosubmitfor accreditation
1. Be confident in assessing for and delivering, high quality, outcome focused, evidence-based low intensity interventions to children and young people experiencing mental health difficulties.
1. Be confident in working in aschoolsettingandworking collaboratively with colleagues in Early Help, Social Careand across the wider system.
1. As a person,willalways be looking for new or better ways to deliver care and be keen to learn.
1. and most of all will have a calm, friendly and compassionate outlook and have a keen interest in early intervention and mental health promotion.
