We are looking for a Database Administrator to develop our IT Infrastructure from inception through to maturity.

Main Duties
* Identify and resolve poorly performing SQL queries by restructuring them, adjusting indexes, or providing alternative solutions.
* Develop best practices for writing SQL queries and ensuring efficient design.
* Offer guidance to consultant development teams when designing new systems from a SQL perspective.
* Perform the management and maintenance of SQL Server databases and processes.
* Ensure optimal system performance, availability, and security by proactively monitoring the system's health.
* Troubleshoot issues in real-time, resolving them or providing recommendations for resolution.
* Help implement and control SQL security policies in collaboration with the Head of Development.
* Automate routine tasks, track system issues, and document any changes to ensure smooth operations.
* Carry out scheduled maintenance tasks, including those requiring out-of-hours attention.

What Are We Looking For?
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Application DBA who thrives in a development-focused environment. The ideal candidate should be passionate about optimising database performance and have strong communication skills to work collaboratively with development teams. Key requirements include:
* Experience with SQL Server databases and processes.
* Strong ability to identify and resolve poorly performing queries.
* Knowledge of best practices for SQL query writing and database design.
* Experience in monitoring and maintaining database performance, availability, and security.
* Familiarity with implementing security policies and automating database processes.
* Problem-solving skills, especially under real-time pressure.
