Education and Skills - Building Bright Futures

The Wiltshire Virtual School is looking for a passionate and experienced leader to step into the role of Virtual School Headteacher.

This unique leadership position promotes the educational progress, achievement and well-being of children looked after, previously looked after, children with a social worker (CP/CIN) or children in kinship care. Beyond statutory duties, it supports vulnerable learners, guiding them toward successful, fulfilling futures.

As Virtual School Headteacher, you will lead the highly effective virtual school team and take responsibility for the organisation’s statutory duties related to the educational needs and outcomes for children looked after and care leavers up to age 25. You will ensure that our learners receive the highest quality educational support, encouraging positive outcomes. Your strategic leadership will also focus on enhancing educational success for children who are previously looked after, children in kinship care, children with a social worker and those who have been previously supported by a social worker.

In this strategic role, you’ll shape career pathways, promote inclusion and influence positive behaviour in Wiltshire schools and other local authorities. This position offers hybrid work flexibility across County Hall, Trowbridge, and other Wiltshire hubs.

If you’re ready to lead with passion and vision, we welcome your application to make a lasting difference in the lives of Wiltshire’s young people.
