In this rewarding role, you will conduct clinics through various formats—telephone, face-to-face, and home visits—tailoring care plans that meet the unique needs of each child. Collaborating closely with community paediatricians, you'll provide vital support to families, guiding them through the challenges of managing additional needs.

Your responsibilities will include maintaining accurate patient records and databases, ensuring that each child's progress is monitored effectively. You'll also have the opportunity to share your specialist knowledge by training and advising medical and nursing staff, enhancing our team's expertise.

Moreover, you'll play a crucial role in auditing our sleep service to evaluate its effectiveness and improve patient outcomes, driving positive change in our community.

Establish and maintain effective communication with patient/carers and families about complex matters particularly sleep difficulties by providing a warm welcoming and enabling environment to support therapeutic relationships



Develop specialist knowledge, in area of sleep in children and sleep behavioural intervention strategies, underpinned by theory and undertake appropriate training



Independently run already well-established Nurse led Sleep clinics with supervision of consultant paediatrician in order to provide a bespoke sleep package to parents and children with neuro-disability disorders and sleep difficulties



Be a part of a multi-disciplinary team consisting of Consultant Paediatricians, Physiotherapist, Occupational therapists, Speech and language therapist, orthoptist, audiologist, play therapists and ensure we provide the best patient centred care for our patients with complex needs particularly children with sleep difficulties



Assess, plan, implement and evaluate the effectiveness of nursing care and nurse led sleep clinic and adjust the programmes of care were indicated along with maintaining the health, safety and security of self and others in own work area



Contribute to the development of sleep services, participating in locality wide learning and training events in sleep behavioural intervention strategies for health professionals, group sessions for parents and school visits



Contribute to quality improvement



Support patients, carers and staff’s equality, diversity and rights



Lead others in the development of knowledge, ideas and work practice



Plan, allocate, assess, and provide feedback to team members



Maintain and support the efficient use of physical and /or financial resources



You will practice in accordance with the professional, ethical and legal framework fornursing



Ability to work flexibly to meet the demands of the service



Caseload management.
