The Education and Research Group supports and facilitates education and research activity across Medical Physics and Clinical Engineering (MPCE). The Group supports PTP, STP and HSST trainees within MPCE. The Group works closely with Oxford University for teaching and assessing on the undergraduate medical physics option within the Department of Physics and the MSc in Medical Physics with Radiobiology within the Department of Oncology. Research activity across MPCE is also supported in terms of local research and that funded from charity, government and industrial funders.

The Radioisotope Physics Group of MPCE is responsible for providing scientific support and advice wherever ionising radiations from radionuclides are used within OUH and other NHS Trusts. The Group provides a clinical scientific and technical service in support of the nuclear medicine and PET departments, Nuclear Cardiology, Oncology, wards, theatres and laboratories that use radionuclides.

The main role of this post is to support radioisotope physics research (particularly PET) and to provide scientific and technical support for a wide range of radioisotope services.
