About us and the role
Our Visitor Experience department is an integral in providing the highest standards of customer service to maximise the enjoyment of our visitors and audiences.
The Power UP gallery is an interactive gaming experience where visitor can play the best video games from the past five decades and try out over a hundred different consoles. There's something for everyone, from Pong to Pacman, Sonic to Street Fighter and Mario to Minecraft, plus a selection of games created in Manchester.
We are looking for Visitor Experience Assistant to interact with and support our visitors in this exhibition space. This will be a fixed term contract until March 2026, working 14 hours during non-holiday periods, and increasing to full time (35 hours) during holiday periods.
You will be one of the first faces our guests see when they enter the exhibition, providing a warm welcome and be happy to respond professionally to visitor enquiries.

About you
We are interested to hear from candidate who are keen to facilitate an environment where our visitors feel welcome, inspired and comfortable. You'll have the ability to actively approach, and engage with visitors to understand their needs, or to promote Museum activities.
With a great approach to customer service, you are an enthusiastic team player with the ability to absorb information and communicate this in an engaging way. You will have the confidence to speak to and support a diverse range of people, and are comfortable working during busy Museum periods, remaining focused and taking initiative.
Please note - we are looking for candidates who can work every weekend during non-holiday periods, with more hours available (full time) to cover holiday periods.
