IT Helpdesk Support Specialist
Location- Melmerby, HG45NB
Work pattern- Full time, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. Flexibilty required for evening and weekend work where necessary.
Main Duties-
Administer the helpdesk system, ensure calls are assigned within agreed timescales, that they are assigned to the correct personnel and that they are actioned appropriately.
Ensure the IT inventory is accurate
Be responsible for IT stock and equipment, its storage and disposal.
Administer IT systems such as AV, Security Awareness Training, Door Access, AD etc.
Procure IT supplies and peripherals.
Produce performance reports for clients.
Provide technical support for users.
Document IT systems and processes.
Provide advice and support to other IT team members.
Provide advice and support to other business areas and staff.
Other Duties-
Carry out Portable Appliance testing.
Assist the Senior Support Specialists
Positively promote the companies policies and standards.
Assist in other areas of the business during peak periods.
Assist the IT manager with security audits.
Essential skills-
- GCSE IT related qualification at grade D/3 above or equivalent or relevant work experience.
- Further education qualification in IT e.g. NVQ, City & Guilds, HND or professional qualification in a related subject e.g. MCP.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft desktop system and applications.
- Knowledge of Active Directory and TCP/IP, switching, routing, smtp, proxy servers, DHCO and DNS.
- Knowledge of IT hardware and peripherals and anti-virus software.
- Knowledge of Spiceworks Helpdesk, Sage200 FMS, Cisco, Helpdesk/call logging systems and VM Ware,
- Excellent written and oral communication.
- Excellent level of time management organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
