An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic pharmacist to join our Pharmacy team at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery. The Pharmacy department is responsible for the delivery of a range of pharmacy services to the neurology, neurosurgery, and adult metabolic services.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in a pioneering hospital which is expanding and developing new areas in research, service development and education.


You will be part of the Queen Square clinical pharmacist team rotating through general Neurology, Neurosurgery, Stroke and Multiple sclerosis services working in, and contributing to, multidisciplinary patient care at all levels covering ward and dispensary activities.
You will participate in audit and project work, developing key skills as you progress.

There will be opportunity in participating and undertaking research projects which will be supported by the wider UCLH Centre for Medicines Optimisation Research and Education (CMORE) team



The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery (NHNN) is the United Kingdom’s oldest and largest dedicated neurological and neurosurgical hospital. We are part of University College London Hospitals NHS foundation Trust (UCLH) and we are linked with the University College London (UCL) Institute of Neurology. The NHNN is a leading centre for the diagnosis, treatment, and care of patients with a wide range of conditions such as Epilepsy, MS, Alzheimer's, Stroke, and head injuries.
Most of the Neurology and Neurosurgery services are provided from within the NHNN. The hospital comprises 250 inpatient beds including a specialist neurology and neurosurgery ICU, two busy outpatient departments and a Day Care Centre. We also provide a pharmacy service to the Charles Dent Metabolic Unit, a treatment centre for adolescents and adults with inherited metabolic diseases. We are one of the designated national lysosomal storage disease centres.

The pharmacy team is well integrated into clinical practice and works closely with doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, and other ward staff to provide comprehensive clinical pharmacy support for inpatients and outpatients.

Essential Requirements:
• Excellent communication skills

• Able to work as part of a team and independently
• Good Timekeeping and prioritisation skills

Previous experience in neurology is not essential but desirable.
