Main duties and responsibilities
• Oversee the estate and facilities management of the building ensuring the continued maintenance and operational availability of all the premises facilities, grounds and plant. And that procedures and processes are followed to the agreed standard.
• Provide support relating to IS service provision and providers (3rd party)
• Be accountable for the maintenance and short-term projects and on occasion contribute to the work of larger initiatives and projects, liaising with contractors or service provides on behalf of the college.
o Plan and allocate work using project management techniques, for short to medium term projects, with an awareness of longer-term issues.
o Liaise and negotiate with external contractors for the provision of goods and services including one off projects and continued service agreements

● Ensure Health & Safety working practices and conditions are adhered to and a safe environment is provided for users of buildings in accordance with relevant legislation. This includes carrying out appropriate risk assessments, building checks, audits etc.
o Manage risk in the operation of the house
o Act as fire officer for the premises
o Ensure the operations of the house meet the requirements of any validating bodies
o Ensure the operations of the house meet other statutory and regulatory requirements including environmental health, disability access and child/vulnerable adult protection.
o Ensure the policies adopted by the board are effectively adopted.

● Liaise and build relationships with colleagues and attend meetings as required to support college activity
● Interpret college requirements and provide suitable solutions, recommending alternative courses of action where necessary.
● Some on-call responsibility for emergencies
