Summary
The Fortified City of God in Cardiff intends to expand its ministries in evangelism, discipleship training, and social outreach services. To meet the needs of the pastoral ministry, the church has resolved to recruit a suitable Associate Pastor to serve primarily in the church in Cardiff, assisting the senior pastor and going for ministerial assignments within and outside the United Kingdom. The applicant should agree with Christian Doctrines and traditions and work well with a senior pastor. Previous pastoral experience is required.
The Associate Pastor (Minister of Religion) shall perform spiritual functions associated with the beliefs and practices of The Fortified City of God and provide motivation, guidance, and training in religious life for the members and the wider community.
The responsibilities include:
• Providing counselling and emotional and spiritual support for the congregation and community members in times of crisis and personal emergencies.
• Leading worship regularly and on special occasions.
• Providing education for children and adults by preaching or teaching.
• Leading at marriages, funerals and other special services.
• Offering counselling and welfare support to members of the organisation.
• Recruiting, training and coordinating the work of local volunteers and lay preachers.
• The Job will involve travelling for church planting/evangelism and administrative duties within or outside the United Kingdom.
• Preaching and teaching the word of God in church services as scheduled under our religious beliefs.
• Researching and attending trainings, retreats and seminars to improve your knowledge of the scripture and its teachings.
• Capable of dealing with personal issues guided by the Holy Bible with compassion and maturity.
• Visiting church members and those in the community who are unable to attend church services.
• Performing christenings, baptisms, funerals and other religious ceremonies as required.
• Overseeing the care and maintenance of the church building and property, meeting with the governing body of the church and supporting church projects.
• Capable of working in cooperation under the supervision of the Senior Pastor.
• Capable of cooperating with other staff in a multicultural environment.
• Performing any other role assigned by the Senior Pastor.
Skills, experience and qualifications required
• Must be born again and filled with the Holy Spirit.
• Must have the fruits mentioned in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:7-9.
• Must be organised, self-motivated, compassionate, a team player and have good written/verbal communication skills.
• Have experience delivering ministry, youth ministry, children ministry and Evangelism.
• Must have attended a recognised ministerial school and possess a certificate.
• A Graduate Degree from a recognised University will be an added advantage. Have a minimum of 5A-Cs GCSE or its equivalent.
• Have received at least one year of recognised theological/ministerial training or ordination from a recognised ministry or church.
• Knowledge of one or two Nigerian Languages (Required).
• Language Requirement: English (Required) (IETLS or NARIC).

This is a full-time position, working 35 hours per week, and five days from seven.
