Summary

I am looking to employ a PA/ support person. I am a full time wheelchair user, I am very sporty when my health allows. I play wheelchair rugby, do WCMX (wheelchair motor cross), athletics and weather permitting park runs. I am interested in art, I like to visit galleries as well as doing my own art projects. I volunteer at an animal park two mornings a week, I am very well supported there but on the rare occasion I may need transport to and from there.
Due to my health needs and levels of pain and fatigue, I am looking for someone that is driven, kind and has a good sense of humour. Candidates will need to be able to work independently to support me if I am unwell.
I live in a rural location with limited public transport, that is not wheelchair accessible. Being able to drive me to activities and appointments is essential.

It is the job of my Personal Assistant to assist in meeting my personal, social and domestic needs as a disabled person, and any other day-to-day requirements or activities. As a result of this assistance I hope to lead an individual, independent and active life in my own home, work and community.

As my Personal Assistant you should be able to handle the physical tasks of lifting, handling, pushing and bending, unless otherwise stated, you do not need to be physically strong to do certain tasks well, but it does help together with good general health.

Respect my privacy and maintain a professional approach at all times, being careful to treat your working relationship as confidential, including the nature of the assistance provided
