Hours: 37 Hours per week (Full-Time) Office Based
We are currently recruiting for succession planning – for future vacancies.
As a PVP Safeguarding Coordinator, the post holder will be required to work within the PVP unit to support the team in reducing the risk to Vulnerable children and adults and reduce the risk posed by perpetrators of abuse.
The successful candidate will liaise with partner agencies to ensure that efforts to safeguard vulnerable people and manage offending behaviour are undertaken in a holistic way, ensuring the victim is at the heart of the process and that all elements of risk are managed effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
•Maintaining information systems for vulnerable children and adults coming to police notice or potentially at risk and ensuring data quality is of a consistently high standard.
• The provision of accurate, relevant and timely advice to officers.
• Make routine decisions in relation to information sharing with partners in line with protocols and legislation.
• Offer support and guidance to investigating officers. Manage and coordinate DV Disclosure Enquiries, issue SOS phones and complete MARAC actions. Supports the DVPO process.
• Carries out a secondary/enhanced risk assessment. This may involve contacting victims and / or partner agencies. Offer support and guidance to victims and refer to partner agencies as appropriate.
• Attends case conferences for cases of a serious nature, ensuring the force can deliver any actions agreed.
• Supports the Vulnerability Hub Inspector in promoting the safeguarding of children agenda by representing the police service in partnership meetings concerning the welfare of children and proactively influencing safeguarding activity and awareness by operational staff. Provides advice to officers dealing with non-offending juveniles.

What the role requires:
• Experience of using Microsoft Computer Packages including, Word Excel as well as data input experience.
• Experience of managing confidential and sensitive information.
• Knowledge of Data Protection Act.
• Has the ability to complete tasks with the minimum of supervision
• Full and clean driving licence
• Strong organisational and administrative planning skills
• Displays good time management skills whilst also remaining effect and efficient. Remains polite and considerate at all times.
• Has an appreciation of the wider issues of a PVP investigation and a willingness to take and pass PIP1 as well as attend Officer Safety training.
• Experience of working on a multi-agency basis.
