Summary

Our son lives at home and requires an adult to support him to access activities in the community. He has autism and a rare brain condition that results in complex medical needs.
You will report to us - his parents.
He is friendly, very chatty, outgoing, energetic & well mannered. He does not display any challenging behavior but can be highly anxious with new or unfamiliar places, people or routines.
His interests / hobbies are Rollercoasters, football, cricket, swimming, 'clip n climb', bike rides, trampoline parks, eating out & going to the cinema.

To be part of having fun and making a difference to a very special young person’s life.
To provide specialist support and understanding in creating positive friendships and the development of social, independent and life skills.
Interact and participate with the child’s development of self-help skills, supporting to him to reach his potential for independence.
Accompany him to activities & opportunities in the community to encourage him to develop and express himself.
A willingness to travel to support the delivery of the child’s needs.
To report any problems/difficulties to mum.
To maintain confidentiality and to ensure that professional boundaries are observed when working with the child and his family

Flexible and innovative approach to working
Significant proven experience of working with children
Knowledge of the dynamics and impact of supporting a child with autistic traits
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work unsupervised.
Ability to work on own initiative & have confidence in their approach.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Good interpersonal skills.
Good listening skills.
Driver/own transport
£12.90 per hour

6 hours per week during term time and 10 hrs per week during school holidays

To be agreed by both employer and worker
preferably one weekday after school hours and Saturday afternoons but we can be flexible on days.
