Crynodeb
The NHS Long Term Plan (LTP) set out a vision for the future of the NHS. The plan highlighted the importance of a strong start in life for children and young people. To deliver the vision set out in the LTP, a Children and Young People Transformation Programme was established to oversee the delivery of LTP commitments in relation to children and young people.
We work particularly closely with the National Clinical Director for Children and Young People and the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health.
The work of the programme is overseen by a Children and Young People Transformation Programme Board that brings together key partners across health, care and education.
This role provides an exciting opportunity to work on communications relating to children and young people. Key to the role will communicating the commitments in the NHS Long Term Plan for Children and Young People and the role Children and Young People’s Transformation Programme.
Applicants should have experience of developing and drafting national communications, with strong stakeholder management skills.
The post holder will be responsible for the following functions, as appropriate to their role within the Directorate (these may be subject to change over time):
• Lead on supporting the Children and Young People’s Clinical Networks
• Work closely with Regional Colleagues who manage CYP Clinical Network and create a community of practice to bring networks together nationally.
• Manage resource and funding for CYP networks.
• Be the liaison between national CYP policy teams and the clinical networks, across clinical areas such as asthma, epilepsy and transition.
• Assist with alignment between clinical networks and Local Systems to implement Long Term Plan Commitments for Children and Young People.
• Produce high-quality written briefs, statements and presentations for a variety of audiences, including senior officials.
• Be able to work with and influence a range of external stakeholders.

Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person.
