Caretaker - 37.5 Hours per week Monday - Friday (10.00 am to 6.00pm) (Lettings are a regular requirement out of school hours - Monday - Sunday)

REPORTING TO:

Premises Manager/Management Team.



OVERALL JOB PURPOSE

To be responsible for property maintenance, cleaning, security and safety within the school premises and grounds. Maintain a good working relationship with our clients, going the extra mile. Delivering the exceptional every day.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:



-To ensure access is provided for contractors and that are escorted at all times as per the Contractor Management plan.

-To cover for the other caretaker's shift when necessary at short notice.

-To maintain building systems, such as: Fire alarm, Intruder alarm, CCTV and the Door Access systems.

-Security of the premises, ensure building is opened/closed and secured on a daily basis as per our contractual opening hours.

-To act as one of the key holders, registered as such with the police and ensuring access to keys is given only to authorised people.

-General building repairs, general knowledge and skills to complete basic repairs as required. Inclusive, but not limited to, decoration, door repairs, fence repairs, sanitary wear repairs, repairs following vandalism.

-Responsible for upkeep of external areas, ensuring litter is removed, areas are swept and kept clear.

-Reporting of damages out of hours to police and reviewing of CCTV system. Downloading footage for the police and school where requested.

-Winter months: Responsible for gritting of external areas to agreed plan. Snow clearance. (Flexible working hours and longer days required at short notice).

-Event management utilising computer systems to ensure all helpdesk events are updated and closed within time. Use of IT equipment, including but not limited to the Ipad, mobile phone, laptop where required.

-Provision of adhoc access for the school (Bookings out of hours) - These occur on a regular basis and can be at short notice.

-Any other duties requested by the management team.

· Previous experience of cleaning

· Previous experience of building maintenance including repairs/small installs

· Understanding of security alarm, CCTV & fire alarm systems
