An exciting opportunity is now available for the right candidate to join our non-medical education team as a Practice Education Tutor to support our Trainee Nurse Associates (TNA's) and Registered Nurse Degree Apprenticeships.

The post holder will be responsible for providing high quality education within the Trust and will be required to contribute to the Quality Assurance of learning opportunities to meet the training curriculum. It will be a requirement of the role to support the development, co-ordination, evaluation and implementation of education programmes for these students.

We are looking to recruit an individual with experience of teaching, supervising and assessing in clinical practice and working across professional and organizational boundaries. The post holder will be required to develop excellent working relationships and effective communication with senior leaders across the trust and external partners which will be essential to drive the developments of the future workforce.

The role is part time and we are looking to recruit an experienced registered nurse to work across all MWL sites with current base at Southport and Ormskirk Hospital sites.

The post holder will support thePractice Education Lead for Trainee Nurse Associates andRegistered Nurse Degree Apprenticeship and will have responsibilities to support the wider educational team.

The post holder will monitor the progress of each student and support the formative and summative assessments as dictated within the curriculum. With excellent communication skills the post holder will collaborate with placement providers and HEIs to ensure rigor in practice learning is maintained; learning outcomes can be met, and are aligned with Service need

Duties include supporting the Corporate Nursing Team in the recruitment process and the Practice Education Facilitators (PEFs) teams to ensure the provision of high quality learning environments acrossthe Organisation

We provide the Mersey Regional Burns & Plastic Surgery Unit at Whiston Hospital and the Spinal Injuries Unit at Southport Hospital to more than 4 million people across the whole of Merseyside, West Lancashire, Cheshire, Isle of Man and North Wales.

KEY DUTIES

· Plan, co-ordinate and present clinical skills training and other learning opportunities as required in line with theNursing Associate curriculum framework.

· Develop the quality of the learning environment for TNA & NAP students, determining interventions necessary to support those staff to meet the required learning outcomes.

· Monitor the progress of each TNA & NAP student and support TNA & NAP formative and summative assessments as dictated within the curriculum.

· Act as a resource / Champion of Learning in practice, supporting managers to ensure the delivery of a high-quality learning experience for TNA & NAP students.

· Liaise with the PEFs, Ward Managers, Education Links and HEIs to develop appropriate action plans to support the failing student.

· Liaise with the Practice Education Lead for Trainee Nurse Associates, the corporate nurse team and HEIs to support the Fitness to Practice process as required.



CLINICAL & PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

· Maintain Professional Registration.

· Adhere to relevant Code of Practice of Professional body.

· Develop education portfolio.

· Support the development, implementation, and review of education in practice learning environments in line with the Nursing Associate curriculum framework.



ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES

· Support the development, co-coordination, evaluation, and implementation of education programs for the TNA & NAP students.

· Liaise with the PEF team to ensure placement opportunities are maximized for TNA & NAP students, taking into account current capacity of learners in those areas.

· Identify learning needs in relation to study skills / academic support required for the TNA & NAP students and signpost the learner to support available in HEI.

· Support the development of clinical practice assessors and supervisors who provide supervision and support structures for TNA & NAP students.

· Undertaking Quality Assurance visits across the organisation in relation to the workplace development of TNA & NAP

· Developing and maintaining links with HEIs to support practice assessors and supervisors, e.g. contributing to curriculum development, validation, and review of the annual quality review of education contracts.

· Provide pastoral support to TNA & NAP and prepare and support managers in.



TEACHING & TRAINING RESPONSBILITIES

· Plan inductions, clinical skills teaching and inter-professional learning opportunities for TNA & NAP students, working in partnership with the wider Clinical Education Team to support the development of programmes and learning opportunities for TNA & NAP students.

· Collaborate with Preceptorship coordinator to support learners transition into professional practice.

· Work with supervisors/assessors to develop educational development plans in order to meet the requirements of the TNA, NAP curriculums.

· Collaborating with the wider clinical education teams, identify opportunities where multi-professional teaching, practice supervision can be facilitated as a foundation for inter-professional learning.

· Collaborate with placement providers and HEIs to ensure rigor in practice learning is maintained; learning outcomes can be met and are aligned with Service need.
