18.75 hours per week – Monday to Wednesday
We have an exciting opportunity for a hardworking and committed Housing Officer, who has sound knowledge of the local area, to join our team of Housing Officers based at the Toryglen office in Glasgow. You will be responsible for providing a high quality housing management service that meets the identified needs of customers and the wider community. This is a varied opportunity that will see you manage a range of situations and help to build key relationships between Sanctuary Housing and our tenants. You will have excellent negotiating skills and a flexible approach to working.
The role of Housing Officer will include:
- Responsible for a patch consisting of general needs, home for older people and affordable housing properties and MMR
- Effective management of patch including rent account, estate inspections and anti-social behavior cases
- Liaising with colleagues in Property Services and Lettings to ensure the effective allocation of void properties
- Managing tenant expectations regarding repairs and escalating any property maintenance issues affecting tenant welfare via appropriate channels
- Managing complaints about service delivery
- Working with colleagues in other service areas to help the organisation meet its compliance obligations (fire safety, water hygiene, gas safety and data protection)
- Delivering general advice on all aspects of tenancy to enable sustainability
- Working with a range of external agencies to resolve a range of issues affecting tenant welfare including; domestic abuse, anti-social behaviour and safeguarding
- Working closely with administrative colleagues to complete a range of tenancy management processes, which include; tenancy conversions, permissions, mutual exchanges, successions, service charges and enforcement of tenancy breaches
Skills and experiences:
- Proven experience of undertaking a similar role
- Prior experience of delivering high quality tenancy services
- Excellent skills in analysing and diagnosing problems and implementing solutions
- Excellent communication and customer care skills
- Proven experience of good practice resident involvement activities
- Excellent understanding of written and spoken English
- Working knowledge of relevant regulations and good practice
- Occasional travel may be a requirement of the role, therefore a full valid driving licence is essential

- £17,568 per annum (rising to £18,493 per annum after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance)
The full time equivalent salary for this role is £35,137 based on 37.5 hours per week rising to £36,986 after 12 months service and subject to satisfactory performance
