Summary
To deliver and promote the inpatient Tobacco Treatment Service across all EPUT Premises working collaboratively with clinical ward staff. The post holder will be regularly work in demanding clinical environments and will be dealing face-to-face with vulnerable patients, many with complicated clinical needs.
· To deliver the Tobacco Treatment Service to inpatients and support onward referral into Provide EWS Services.
· To provide support and brief advice with regards to smoking cessation
· To educate and train staff to deliver Very Brief Advice training (VBA)to patients when promoting the benefits of stopping smoking &working with the Ward Managers and Clinical Leads
· To provide brief interventions to inpatients to improve their lifestyle and advise on further support available
o Apply behaviour change techniques to support individual lifestyle changes, e.g. goals setting, confidence building
o Provide evidence based about a key public health agenda
o Ensure referral onto EWS following discharge from hospital to enhance and sustain the outcome of the interventions.
· To promote the service throughout the hospital as detailed in the Standard Operating Procedure that supports the project.

· To routinely engage with the clinical staff at all levels, ensuring the staff understand the process of referring patients to the Service.
· To undertake basic assessments and interventions related to smoking cessation
· To maintain records, ensuring confidentiality and efficient documentation and retrieval of information. Accessing and inputting patient information through integrated databases and completing project supporting documentation (spreadsheets) in accordance with agreed policy and procedures.
· To update resources and information guides as directed
· To manage own workload efficiently and to be responsible for managing own daily timetable of delegated tasks including time for supervision and training.
· Contribute to and work as part of a team, both internally and externally.
· Provide support to hospital staff and support with training
· Undertake any other delegated work
· Any other function commensurate with competencies and job role
· To maintain professional working relationships within Provide and EPUT and other relevant organisations.
· To be responsible for own learning in knowledge base relevant to the service including mandatory training.
· Carry out administrative duties as required by the role.
· Contributing to the evolution of the service into other areas of the hospital eg Pre-Operative Assessment.
· Make recommendations and participate in service improvement within the Tobacco Treatment Service.
· Monitor stock levels
