Equate Scotland is a national expert policy, research, development and advocacy organisation, with a focus on women’s under-representation within the science, engineering, technology and the built environment industries. We are hosted by Edinburgh Napier University and are based at the Edinburgh Napier University Craiglockhart campus.

As part of our ongoing focus on the delivery of a high-quality service to the STEM sector and academia, we are currently recruiting a part-time Operations and Finance Coordinator to support the team in the office management, financial management of grant funding, and project monitoring and delivery.

The Role:

The role of Operations and Finance Coordinator will give you an excellent opportunity to use your extensive financial management skills and experience of financial administration/budget management to implement appropriate financial management and monitoring mechanisms and enable accurate, real-time information and timely reporting to the Director, external funders, Steering Committee and wider stakeholders, as required.

Your ability to plan and prioritise workloads and confident and effective communication skills will serve you well as you liaise with ENU finance team to progress finance tasks and with Equate team members on the financial control of projects, provision of actual spend information and coordination of claims and payments to other project stakeholders.

Furthermore, you will get the chance to use your experience, initiative and problem-solving skills to develop, implement and manage process improvement initiatives across the organisation to increase the effectiveness and reliability of financial, administrative, operational and system practices.

The post also offers variety and a chance for you to showcase your adaptable nature and ability to plan and prioritise workloads.

This will involve coordination of recruitment and induction requirements for relevant vacancies and overseeing the work of the project administrator, ensuring effective administration and communication systems are in place that support the successful delivery of Equate Scotland’s training and project delivery goals.

What we will need from you:

- Appropriate Degree or equivalent/extensive experience in a relevant financial context
- Extensive financial management skills and demonstrated ability of operations and process improvement
- Experience of financial administration and budget management monitoring
- Experience of communicating with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to work independently to plan and organise workload and resources including supervision of members of the Support Team, ensuring that other Equate Scotland colleagues can access the support they need to carry out their respective duties.

Salary: £30,805 – £37,174 – Grade 4

Part Time – 21 hrs/wk
