Morgan Hunt are currently working with a UK Government Department in their search for a temporary Contract Paralegal to provide transactional and documentation support on a variety of activities, including supporting gilt and Treasury bill auctions and tenders.
You will support on a broad range of activities, including financial and commercial contracts, bond listing applications, non-disclosure agreements, terms of business, know-your-customer checks, counterparty on-boarding processes and other activities.
You will be responsible for drafting and reviewing contracts and other documentation, researching and drafting notes of advice, attending calls and taking minutes, compiling and managing action lists, compliance checks as well as coordinating internal and external stakeholders.
The successful post-holder will be an experienced Paralegal, with experience dealing with a wide range of contractual legal matters (ideally in relation to financial market transactions or commercial contracts). You will have strong legal technical and analytical skills, with excellent attention to detail and drafting skills. You will be a well communicated, proactive self-starter with a willingness to learn.
Please note that this role requires SC Clearance, and for the appointed candidate to work in the London Office 3 days per week.

Key Responsibilities
- To provide transactional and documentation support on a variety of activities, including financial and commercial contracts, bond listing applications, non-disclosure agreements, terms of business, know-your-customer checks, counterparty on-boarding processes and other
- To contribute to the further development of legal and documentation processes and procedures.
- To provide ad-hoc support relating to other risk team activities, including support of gilt and Treasury bill auctions and tenders
- Day-to-day responsibilities of this role will include:
- Drafting and reviewing contracts and other documentation
- Researching and drafting notes of advice
- Attending calls and taking minutes
- Compiling and managing action lists
- Compliance checks
- Coordinating internal and external stakeholders
- Filing and managing the team's know-how and precedent folders
Person Specification
- A higher education degree in Law or a related subject or a qualification to practise law in England & Wales
- Excellent English language skills
- Strong legal technical and analytical skills, legal research skills and contract drafting skills
- Ideal candidates will have at least 2 years' legal/paralegal experience in either financial markets transactions or commercial contracts but other strong applicants may be considered
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels
- Excellent organisation skills and a strong attention to detail
- The ability to produce documentation with absolute accuracy within tight deadlines
- A positive and proactive approach
- Flexibility and willingness to cover other operational and risk activities that fall outside of the core role as required
