A well-established SME manufacturing company is seeking a highly organized and experienced Production Manager to support the Managing Director (MD) in coordinating the daily factory operations and ensuring full compliance across the company. This is a key role with significant responsibility in both production management and compliance.
Key ResponsibilitiesProduction & Resource Management:
- Materials Management: Forecasting, reordering, and resourcing materials.
- Quality Control (QC): Conduct regular checks, assessments, and internal audits to uphold production standards. Monitor quality control to minimize delays and issues.
- Training & Induction: Oversee the onboarding and training of new staff. Maintain and coordinate the training matrix across departments.
- Daily Operations: Provide hands-on support in the day-to-day running of the production department.
Compliance & Health & Safety:
- Health & Safety Management: Take full responsibility for health and safety across all departments. Ensure compliance with regulations.
- Audit Coordination: Plan and execute internal and external audits on an annual basis.
- Equipment Management: Manage servicing and maintenance for all machinery. Renew and renegotiate machinery contracts as needed.
- Health & Safety Expertise: NEBOSH National Certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management is preferable.
- Organization & Communication: Strong administrative and communication skills are essential.
- Negotiation & Administrative Skills: Proven experience in negotiating and managing contracts and administrative tasks.
- Production Experience: Experience in a supervisory role within a production environment is beneficial but not essential.
There is potential for this role to grow, supporting the MD further in the administration and coordination of production departments and additional projects
