Crynodeb

The Document Controller reports to the Line Maintenance Manager and is the point of contact for technical documentation/ information. The role provides leadership and oversight for the development and delivery of all Continuing Airworthiness Records activities, whilst maximising operational efficiency and minimising costs.

Through the effective utilisation of subject matter knowledge and experience, able to carry out QA activity on work packages, recording and reporting errors.

Required to contribute data and attend Maintenance meetings (PIRMS, PORMS, Fleet planning etc) regarding resource requirements and availability

The post holder will monitor a range of activities in order to maintain the integrity, safety, availability, access, retention and disposal of technical documents within the aircraft maintenance organisation.

Ensuring legibility and completeness of all aircraft records.

• Ensuring all Airworthiness Records activities are appropriately documented and airworthiness records are maintained on relevant systems
• Monitoring technical instructions compliance and feedback to engineering operations upon completion
• Auditing IMS for data integrity at required intervals (QA activity)
• Preparing aircraft land-away documentation and consolidation to IMS upon aircraft return
• Leading the development and publication of the performance indicators required to demonstrate the configuration, quality and integrity of the aircraft Airworthiness Records
• Leading the delivery of advice and assistance on modification or configuration status
• Managing the development, production and publication of the performance indicators required to demonstrate the configuration, quality and integrity of the aircraft and component Continuing Airworthiness Records
• At a tactical level, managing the provision of information from the Continuing Airworthiness Records and the interface with Maintenance Tasking, Part 145 organisation, Fleet Planning, Reliability Programmes and other key stakeholders, in order to deliver the required standards of Continuing Airworthiness and contract delivery
• Managing and report on the effectiveness of Continuing Airworthiness Records completion and management processes, including feedback to Part 145 organisation and Suppliers, across all responsible maintenance locations. Ensure escalated issues, including any identified by the Airworthiness Review process, are assessed and effective solutions implemented into the Continuing Airworthiness Records activities
• Managing the delivery of advice and assistance on modification/configuration status-related questions

Key Accountabilities

Performance indicators – Ensure the effective management of Continuing Airworthiness Records activities by setting delivery targets, monitoring progress and developing performance improvement programmes. Prioritises activities within team to maximise efficiency. Responsible for the assessment of escalated issues for any impact on Continuing Airworthiness and generating effective resolution, or sponsoring escalation to management, as appropriate
Completion of activities – Ensure all Continuing Airworthiness Records activities are appropriately documented and Airworthiness Records are maintained on relevant systems (IT/paper based). Ensure all Continuing Airworthiness Records activities are performed by suitably qualified, experienced and authorised personnel. Ensure the integration of Continuing Airworthiness Records activity within the business, including the engagement of key stakeholders at all stages of the process. Provide support and guidance to the team
Procedure/standards – Manage the Continuing Airworthiness Records team(s) compliance with the CAME, its associated procedures and standards, and any other Company procedures and standards, as applicable. Identify, propose and implement change as required, whilst ensuring compliance
Safety Management System – Promote the application of Human Factors, Error Management, Risk Management and Safety Assurance within the Continuing Airworthiness Records team(s), together with the proactive analysis, mitigation and management of Hazards
Management System Assurance – Management and application of the MAA/CAA system within airworthiness records, including supporting audits, responding to findings in a timely manner and providing relevant information into the appropriate reviews
Statutory/Regulatory & Legislative requirements – Able to demonstrate a detailed understanding and application of the Continuing Airworthiness regulatory framework, e.g. EASA and ensure any changes are implemented; Ensure compliance with all other requirements, e.g. ITAR/EaPW
Contractual Requirements – Ensure compliance with all applicable contractual requirements; Support contract reviews and ensure communication of any changes into airworthiness records activities

Qualifications/Functional Knowledge

• Minimum BTEC level 3 in a relevant Data Management or Technical discipline, or Part 66 Category C qualified, or suitable equivalent
• Recent experience within a Maintenance & Support environment, including significant direct experience of managing and maintaining Continuing Airworthiness Records. Or Recent proven experience as a Team Leader in a related discipline, such as Maintenance Tasking & Verification, Reliability Programme management or Maintenance Programme development Able to demonstrate good team leadership knowledge and skills
• Effective, highly credible communicator with strong interpersonal skills
• Requires broad product knowledge and a comprehensive understanding of the relationship with interfacing / contributory areas
• Able to analyse and interpret data
• Comprehensive understanding of current IT software packages used within the Continuing Airworthiness Records discipline
• Good understanding of Project Management techniques
• Strong quantitative, analytical and project management skills/experience, with Lean management principles
