A Vacancy at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

This post offers an exciting opportunity to join the proton beam therapy (PBT) service at UCLH. The postholder will play a key role in providing a good service to patients. They will be responsible for checking patients in for their appointment, updating them on any delays and outcoming appointments. They will also be responsible for booking interpreters and transport when required.

This position will also have a strong focus on delivering an excellent patient experience. As many PBT patients will be travelling in from different parts of the country, this role will help support them settling in by providing information on the local area, and potential activities they can do. Many of the patients will be coming in daily for a five to six week period, so they will be able to get to know them, and help them feel at home in London. The successful applicant will therefore need to have good communication and customer service skills.

To provide comprehensive administrative and reception services to the PBT department, ensuring the highest quality standards and exceptional service to patients and their families. This includes greeting patients courteously, managing check-ins via ARIA and EPIC systems, maintaining a tidy waiting area, and offering non-clinical advice and support. The role involves effective communication to address patient queries, update waiting times, and ensure patient appointments are coordinated smoothly. Additionally, the position requires maintaining confidentiality, assisting with departmental tasks, and participating in the training of new receptionists. Flexibility and a caring attitude are essential to ensure patients feel welcomed.
