Milton Keynes University Foundation Trust is a busy hospital dedicated to providing exceptional healthcare services to our community. We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated individual to join our team as the Head of Security & Car Parks.
The ideal candidate will have a proven experience in security management, preferably in a healthcare setting, with strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Knowledge of law, security systems and technologies, along with the ability to handle high-pressure situations with calm and efficiency.
As the Head of Security & Car Parks, you will be responsible for overseeing all security operations and car park management within the hospital premises and at some local off-site community services. Your primary goal will be to ensure the safety and security of patients, staff, and visitors, while maintaining efficient and orderly car park operations.

You will develop and implement comprehensive security policies and procedures. Manage and lead a team of security personnel (both substantive and sub-contract). Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments. Oversee car park operations, ensuring optimal use of space, smooth traffic flow and the safety of users. Coordinate with local law enforcement and emergency services. Manage door access control. Handle security incidents and emergencies promptly and effectively. Provide training and support to security staff.
• The post holder is responsible for leading the strategic direction of the organisations security management with a dedicated security team providing excellence in security management standards, including car parking and switchboard.
• They will have responsibility for the day-to-day management, monitoring and co-ordination of the security service provided by the Trust, either delivered by directly employed or sub-contracted security staff.
• As the Trust wide lead for Security Management, they will fulfil the responsibilities required by the role.
• Acting on behalf of the Trust the role requires working predominantly autonomously with Directors, Senior Managers and other staff across the Trust, and liaison with a wide range of external organisations.
