Assistant Ranger
Permanent full-time (37 hours)
Salary: Grade 2 SCP 9 (Starting salary of £25, 119 (pay award pending))
Would you like to join a team making a vital contribution to the green spaces and active communities that make Frome so distinctive and special? Do you enjoy being outside whatever the weather and love doing practical work? If you have some experience of outdoor tasks but would like to learn and develop those skills with the support and mentoring of highly skilled colleagues, then read on.
Our vision is for the community places and green spaces of Frome being maintained to the highest standards. Whether play parks, wildflower meadows, historic trees or streets in the town centre our aspiration is that vibrant local communities feel a sense of ownership and pride in their neighbourhoods.
We’re looking for an enthusiastic person to join our 5 person professional ranger team reporting to the Lead Ranger. We’re keen to here from you if you are keen but not necessarily experienced in all areas: if you are a positive team player who is highly motivated to learn new skills, we can provide the training needed.
If you would like to be part of Frome’s much valued Ranger team supporting the local community green spaces and promoting wildlife, if you love practical tasks and variety and no day being the same, then this could be your ideal opportunity!
