Role Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Development Manager to join a leading Social Care provider based in London.

The Senior Development Manager will be responsible for developing a high-quality social care property developments working closely with the Group Development Director. You will be responsible for the development, planning and pre-construction works as well as analysing and monitoring cost reports, and managing project risk. You will be able to build strong inter-departmental working relationships and actively contribute to the planning of controlled business growth.

You will want to make a difference in relation to 'transforming care' in social care settings.

The role sits within the senior leadership team reporting into the Group Development Director.

Currently managing one member of staff (Property Acquisitions Manager) it is anticipated that as the growth plan develops the Senior Development Manager will build a virtual team using external parties and in time build internal resource capability to deliver the plan.

Primary Accountabilities - Business Growth


Lead a team aligned with our strategic growth plans including property sourcing, acquisition and analysis.
Technically develop projects, design and contract information in order to successfully deliver operational assets including Employers' Requirements and associated contract information.
You will have strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills in order to deliver at speed.
Review contracts prior to contract execution including gaining any commercial/legal reviews or advice.
Manage and control the building control process to mitigate risk.
Manage and control the registered provider (RP) process in relation to scope and specification to mitigate risk and deliver leading services.
Maximise the profitability of the business by identifying value opportunities and accurate cost control.
Ensure that our projects have the correct insurances and warranties in place.
Ensure all contractual issues are identified at the earliest opportunity and addressed in an appropriate manner that balances the protection of the business whilst maintaining collaborative relationships.
Engender an approach of collaborative working across all business disciplines internally and externally.


Leadership & Management


Report performance of all development activities using key metrics and appropriate management information to key stakeholders including the Senior Leadership team, Executive, Board and Intriva.
Own and deliver against growth budgets and the long term plan.
Build strong working relationships with Operational, and other, colleagues to ensure a collaborative approach to delivery and problem solving.
As a key member of the Executive team act with honesty and integrity at all times and champion the company values as a truly authentic leader within the organisation.


Experience & Knowledge


5 years of demonstrable experience delivering new services.
Experience of building strong working relationship with commissioners and establishing win-win service solutions.
Property development including new builds and remodelling/refurbishment of existing.
Previously worked at SMT level and comfortable operating with a Board and multi stakeholder management.
Social care industry a real plus.
Understand financial modelling to support in ensuring financial delivery against set targets .
knowledge and experience of working with LD / Autism services.
Degree level qualification.
Chartership or working towards.
