Crynodeb

The newly established Aston Institute for Membrane Excellence (AIME) is a unique, interdisciplinary, intersectoral research and training hub for translational membrane science. AIME is supported by a £10M grant from the Research England Expanding Excellence in England (E3) Programme and will synergistically combine world-leading expertise in membrane biology and novel polymer chemistries to establish a first-of-its-kind institute, expanding our distinctive excellence in computational membrane science, membrane structural determination and sustainable polymers research. Over the next five years, we will recruit 20 new colleagues to expand our new institute.

We now wish to recruit one Tenure-Tracked Research Fellow to build capacity in AIME. This is an exciting opportunity to build your research profile and establish your independence. The role is offered as 'dynamic working', which means working both on campus and from home. This will dependent on the activity. Further information on dynamic working can be found here.

You will have a strong track record in a field related to membrane science (biological membranes, cell biology, synthetic polymer membranes, etc.) using cutting edge approaches that will build synergies within AIME. Experience of driving research projects to deliver impactful outcomes is required and ideal candidates will have demonstrated a strong trajectory of research independence.

The post is available for a fixed term of 5 years with an ideal start date of 1st January 2025. Subject to progress, a permanent academic contract will be available from 30th July 2029.

You will find more information regarding the AIME project on our new research page. You can watch our new podcast on Aston University's Research Institute on YouTube. For further information please contact Professor Roslyn Bill, Professor Paul Topham or Dr Alan Goddard (r.m.bill@aston.ac.uk, p.d.topham@aston.ac.uk, a.goddard@aston.ac.uk).

Hyderus o ran Anabledd
Yn gyffredinol, bydd cyflogwr Hyderus o ran Anabledd yn cynnig cyfweliad i unrhyw ymgeisydd sy'n datgan eu bod yn anabl ac yn bodloni'r meini prawf lleiaf ar gyfer y swydd fel y diffinnir gan y cyflogwr. Mae'n bwysig nodi, mewn rhai sefyllfaoedd recriwtio fel nifer fawr o ymgeiswyr, cyfnod tymhorol ac amseroedd prysur iawn, efallai y bydd y cyflogwr am gyfyngu ar y niferoedd cyffredinol o gyfweliadau a gynigir i bobl anabl a phobl nad ydynt yn anabl.
