Summary

Studland Trekking Centre offer a full livery service where horses are cared for by a team of wonderful and highly skilled staff of which you could be part of! They offer rides out and a B&B services to customers whilst on holiday.
As an apprentice you will be given full support and training from all of our lovely staff who will help you achieve your qualification. If you love working outdoors with horses then this is the perfect job for you. They are a small yard but can get busy particularly in the warmer months when more people want to ride out in the beautiful surroundings so you should be organised and able to complete tasks in a timely manner to ensure each day runs smoothly and rides and treks can start on time.
Usual yard jobs are included:


Grooming
Tacking up for lessons
Offering great customer service
Mucking out
With the position being ideally be suited to someone who can ride and is confident riding out in the open.
The apprenticeship is based onsite so not spent sat in a classroom. If you did not gain your Maths & English grades at school we can help you to gain these whilst on programme.
The interview will consists of a trial day working on the yard.
To apply for this role you have to be a UK resident or have lived in the EU for 3 years. If you hold a L3 Equine qualification already you are unable to apply for this role.




Training
All training will be provided on
site during your paid working hours.
Your day to day mentoring will be with your employer, and a combination
of online and in person monthly sessions will be held with your Haddon Training
Trainer Coach.


Qualifications required
A GCSE or equivalent pass in English
and maths is beneficial but not essential.
If you do not have passes, we will support you in achieving your
Functional Skills English and maths qualifications alongside your apprenticeship.


Skills required

Have a good knowledge and awareness of safety issues
Enjoy working with people and to be able to communicate well with people of all ages
Organised and reliable
Desirable: be able to ride to a good standard
Can handle pressure - in the warmer months they can get busy

Further development onto a L3 Senior Equine Groom apprenticeship.
