Then join Nacro with this exciting opportunity to provide support in the delivery of landscape maintenance to our learners at the Nacro Education Centre in Middlesbrough.

We are in search of an inspirational and enthusiastic Landscape Maintenance Learning Assistant, with a love of working outdoors, who will work as part of Nacro’s Middlesbrough educational team, in maintaining local green areas within the community and supporting learners in the classroom environment.

The primary purpose of this role will be to support 16 - 19-year-old learners with landscape maintenance guidance, while building skills around gardening and maintaining green spaces for the local council contract. As well as the practical and maintenance aspects, the role will also provide learning support to learners in the classroom at the Centre with both academic qualifications and developing personal and social skills.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

· Support the delivery of training and support to small cohorts of 16–19-year-olds on Nacro’s Study Programme, which includes in Landscape maintenance, employability skills and personal and social development.

· Support young people to achieve their qualifications and prepare them for the world of work and their progression

· Help develop resources and engaging green activities related to the programme, while supporting with the delivery of the landscape maintenance programme.

· Assist with the creation of support plans for learners and regularly monitor

The successful candidate should have a keen interest in gardening, landscape maintenance or maintaining public green areas and spaces. The candidate will be responsible in helping to support a diverse group of young people with different learning styles and engaging with difficult-to-reach students so a desire to help young people learn and achieve is essential.

Qualifications & experience required:

· Driver’s License – preferred, but no essential

· Experience in engaging hard to reach young people or willingness to use transferable skills to engage young people

· An interest or experience in Gardening or Landscape Maintenance

Interviews will be held from 15th October 2024.

A DBS check will be required for this role
