Summary
This is a fixed term post (12 months) attached to Scottish Government Funded Projects. You will lead the administration of the dental public health research portfolio and provide day to day support to the Honorary Consultant in Dental Public Health and to the group of Research Assistants/Fellows embedded in the research portfolio. You will use your previous experience of working in a busy research environment to support varying tasks using integrity, confidentiality and accuracy to help the expansion of this research team.
You will have to opportunity to be part of a growing team and play a key role in the development, coordination and delivery of dental public health research. The post holder will also lead the planning and prioritisation of the administrative activities and events relating to dental public health projects.
Your priorities will include:
- Acting as the lead for day-to-day coordination and management of Dental Public Health projects
- Planning and prioritising workload in line with project timelines, anticipating key periods of challenge on resource and working together with the team to ensure all essential activities are supported
- Providing a high-quality service to dental public health staff using initiative and making the most effective and efficient use of resource
- Coordinating appropriate travel, accommodation and catering as required by the Dental Public Health team in line with study budgets and University policies
Who we're looking for:
- An undergraduate degree in a relevant subject area or relevant further education qualification with significant work experience
- Experience of working in a public health/clinical/health services research environment
- A general understanding of administrative requirements needed to support research study
- Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary research team
- High attention to detail and a focus on maintaining quality of all outputs from the research portfolio
