Applications are invited to apply for a Consultant Orthodontist post, based at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
This is a substantive part-time appointment on a flexible 6. PA job plan. The post holder will be part of an established multidisciplinary team providing orthodontic care for patients requiring orthognathic surgery, dentoalveolar surgery, craniofacial surgery, orthodontic/restorative treatment and complex orthodontic treatment.
This is an exciting opportunity to join our multi-disciplinary team of Restorative, OMFS colleagues and several other medical related specialities.

• Undertake outpatient clinics new and follow-ups with supervision of junior staff as appropriate.
• Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with dental and medical colleagues in other specialties and participate in regular clinical meetings and other postgraduate activities.
• Develop and maintain good communication with General dental practitioners, colleagues in the salaried dental services and local orthodontic specialist practitioners.
• Orthodontic treatment of complex malocclusions
• Active involvement in Audit, Clinical Governance, morbidity and mortality meetings
• Participation in the departmental educational activity.
• Share responsibility for data protection particularly digital and electronic records.
• Ensure good clinical practice and continued professional development.
• The post holder will comply with infection control practices and any relevant trust policies and procedures with regards to Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable Adults.
• Supervision of the Specialist Registrars, DCTs and therapists will be required.
The appointee will participate in teaching of medical & dental students, dental DCTs, FY2s, StRs, OMFS trainees and courses for General Dental Practitioners (e.g. Section 63) as required
