Job Summary:
As a Fabricator Welder at Shaw Renewables, you will be responsible for fabricating and welding stainless steel components for various renewable energy projects. The role requires a high level of precision and craftsmanship, with a focus on producing durable and high-quality stainless steel items and pipework.
Whilst this role is based at our workshop we will require you to work away on projects across the UK. Accommodation and travel will be organised for you.
Key Responsibilities:
• Fabrication: Interpret engineering drawings and fabricate stainless steel components accordingly.
• Welding: Perform TIG and MIG welding on stainless steel, ensuring high-quality welds that meet industry standards.
• Quality Control: Inspect and test welded joints and components for quality assurance.
• Assembly: Assemble fabricated parts into finished products or structures.
• Maintenance: Maintain welding equipment and tools, ensuring they are in good working condition.
• Safety Compliance: Adhere to all company and industry safety standards, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, project managers, and other team members to ensure projects are completed on time and to specification.
• Qualifications and Experience:
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a fabricator welder, with a strong emphasis on stainless steel.
Welding Skills: Proficient in TIG and MIG welding techniques.
Technical Knowledge: Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in fabrication and welding tasks.
Physical Fitness: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy materials and working in various positions.
Certifications: Relevant welding certifications are preferred but not essential.
Key Competencies:
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication skills.
• Commitment to maintaining high safety standards.
• Full UK drivers license.
