Are you an inspiring accountant looking for a new challenge?
Leicestershire Police are looking to recruit a Trainee Assistant Accountant on a 12 month fixed term basis. In this role you will help support in the provision of a pro-active financial service, including supporting the Senior Accountant with the closure of statutory accounts.
Key Responsibilities
-Conduct regular budget monitoring of both delegated / corporate budgets, investigating and highlighting any significant issues to Budget Holders.
-Maintain the ledgers for the nominated business areas, including authorizing individual transactions, posting journals and actioning year-end adjustments.
-Assist with a range of functions within Financial Services such as reconciling the IMPREST account, ensuring all bank transactions are accurately accounted for, credit cards, processing of pension payments, day to day administration of on-line income received.
The must haves
-Qualified to A Level standard with GCSE Grade C or equivalent in both English & Maths or have experience of working within an environment to that level.
-Be studying for or hold AAT qualification or commencing accountancy qualifications (i.e.CCAB).
-Knowledge and use of Financial Information systems and an understanding of computerised accounting systems.
-A good working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
