A Vacancy at North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust.
The main aim of Preceptorship is to welcome and integrate newly registered professionals into their new team and place of work. It is a structured start, and all nurses, nursing associates and Allied Health Professionals should be offered this during their first year of practice. This role will lead a team to help new professionals translate their knowledge into everyday practice, grow in confidence and understand how to apply their professional Codes to their day-to-day work.
This post will oversee and lead the structure and process to enable a positive preceptorship experience, which has shown to increase confidence, sense of belonging, recruitment and retention of early career professionals. This role will align itself to a number of external principles and standards set by the NMC, the HCPC and NHS England. This role will also lead, oversee and facilitate the OSCE Programme for internationally recruited nurses joining the Trust and support the onboarding of internationally educated AHPs.
· Lead on implementation of the Trust-wide Preceptorship policy and ensure effective and efficient delivery of the programme in line with national frameworks and standards for both Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) and Nurses
· Be responsible for the delivery and facilitation of the 12 month structured programme to all newly qualified nurses, nursing associates and Allied Health Professionals as well as give guidance to experienced staff who would benefit from the programme.
· Work collaboratively with corporate education teams as well as divisional educators/facilitators to provide support and expertise regarding education, professional development and pastoral guidance.
· Line manage Clinical Facilitators within the Preceptorship and Onboarding Team
· Function as an exemplary role model for all professions, demonstrating Trust Values and Behaviours across all areas of the Trust.
· Identify and create opportunities for post-graduate practice learning within a multi-professional environment
· Support the recruitment and retention of new starters at NWAngliaFT and working in close liaison with the recruitment team to ensure all marketing and recruitment initiatives are attended and remain up to date and relevant
We are dedicated to fostering diversity and inclusivity within our workforce and warmly welcome applications from individuals of all backgrounds, with a particular emphasis on encouraging those from disabled, Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) communities, as well as candidates from our local area.
As part of our commitment to supporting our employees we offer a range of benefits including:
• Generous annual leave entitlement starting at 27 days and increasing to 29 days after five years of service and 33 days after 10 years of service, in addition to the national Bank Holidays (pro-rata for part time staff);
• Membership of the NHS Pension Scheme:
• Flexible working opportunities;
• Enhanced hourly rates for unsociable hours e.g. night shifts, weekends, bank holidays;
• Opportunities for career development and training to help you progress in your role;
• Wellbeing support and activities to promote a healthy work environment;
• Access to our in-house physiotherapy service;
• On-site canteens offering subsidised meals;
• Subsidised staff parking (currently free);
• Free Stagecoach Bus Travel to and from work within Cambridgeshire and Peterborough
