Job Summary:
The Dustcart Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the dustcart during waste collection. This role involves navigating designated routes, ensuring timely collection of waste, and maintaining the vehicle in good working condition.
Key Responsibilities:- Vehicle Operation: Drive the dustcart safely and responsibly, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
- Route Management: Follow designated collection routes, making adjustments as necessary to ensure efficient service.
- Waste Collection: Supervise and assist loaders in collecting waste, ensuring all materials are properly loaded and secured.
- Safety Compliance: Implement safety protocols to protect yourself, your team, and the public during collection operations.
- Maintenance Checks: Conduct daily inspections of the dustcart, reporting any mechanical issues to the supervisor promptly.
- Customer Service: Interact positively with the public, addressing any questions or concerns regarding waste collection services.
- Valid Licence: UK Driving licence with category C entitlement, CPC and clean driving record.
- Experience: Previous experience in driving dustcarts, 26 tonne rear steer is preferred.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to perform physical tasks associated with waste collection.
- Communication Skills: Must be able to communicate with team members and the public.
