Job Title: Pharmacy Technician Location: The Lennard Surgery Employment Type: Full-time Job Summary: We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team at The Lennard Surgery. The successful candidate will support our pharmacist in the preparation of prescriptions, ensuring accuracy. As a key member of the pharmacy team, the technician will provide excellent customer service, manage patient records, and comply with all relevant UK regulations. To support the practice pharmacist and clinicians, including: Training support for the prescription clerk team Carry out medicines reconciliation from hospital discharge summaries, outpatient letters or other letters in accordance with practice protocols and to update patients medical records and prescriptions Carry out medication switches, dose optimisation and medicines synchronisation to ensure safe and cost-effective prescribing Initiate repeat prescribing (eRD) for appropriate patients Provide advice to GPs, staff and patients in changes to prescribing in order to support the improvement of prescribing safety, quality and cost effectiveness Participate in medication audits and quality improvement projects Support the practice to meet QOF indicators Support patient safety with high-risk drug monitoring and other safety scorecard indicators Respond to medication queries from patients and staff in a professional manner referring to the appropriate clinician as necessary Advise on the sourcing and safe management of medicines as appropriate Action drug alerts Act as a link between practice and local community and hospital pharmacy services Undertake any other duties appropriate to the post as required
